what you get

lead4ward's Early Numeracy instructional resource includes 96 activities that address Kindergarten standards for counting and comparing numbers, but is also useful for intervention in Grade 1. It is organized into three different number sets, each designed around a theme to encourage the development of the concept of number in young brains in Primary grades:

  • 0-10 (farm stand theme)
  • 0-20 (toy store theme)

types of activities

  • Interactive, PowerPoint-driven activities: these activities offer highly flexible instruction, allowing teachers to move numbers and virtual counters around the templates while students use counters and numbers on work mats, deliver the activity over several sessions, change numbers to meet student needs, answer questions interactively, and allow students to present their solution strategies to the whole class.
  • Stations and small group activities: these activities provide practice and fun while developing academic language and deepening the concept of number.
