  1. Rigorous and Engaging 5 Star Review

Posted by on 9th May 2019

I purchased all of the Start Quick & Ramp It Up series for 5th grade math. I have used TeachTransform resources in the past when I taught 4th grade so I knew that when I moved to 5th grade it was imperative that I have this resource. Start Quick & Ramp It Up provides the students with rigorous problem solving situations and hands on activities for students to work independently, with partners or in groups. Students are provided the opportunity to deepen class discussion with the use of Thought Extenders and activities. Each lesson provides teachers with a step by step guide to setting up and executing each lesson as well as a detailed description and purpose of each lesson. This is a great resource for moving students to the mastery level.

  2. Thank you so much! 5 Star Review

We love this, and more, importantly, my group has learned what they need to learn. This resource helps kids organize themselves, their math, and their thinking because of the way activities are structured. They hold onto the learning because the focus is on the problem-solving process. The kids are applying these skills on their own!

Because some students are missing some pieces from 4th grade, I integrate activities from the TeachTransform 4th grade measurement book as a spiral review for my 5th graders.

Thank you so much for such a great resource!

  3. Just Right! 5 Star Review

These are really good! The books are well aligned (that is hard to find). The activities were written with the 5th grade student in mind and at the right level of rigor (meets the students where they are while challenging them).
